Kaitlyn's 9 Month Checkup

Kaitlyn had her routine 9 month checkup on Thursday and at first everything seemed to be going very well. Current stats: 19.4 pounds, 26.9 inches length. The dr seemed impressed with her mobility (crawling, standing with support and walking along furniture) and said she seems very healthy and developing at a very good rate. Then he checked her hips/legs. As he rotated her right hip, he looked concerned and told me she has a click in her hip. I had no idea what this meant but apparently it is not dislocated but also not growing properly in the socket, causing a click noise. He instructed me to double diaper her and if that does not solve the problem, he will be referring her to an orthopaedic specialist for evaluation. I have since found out that 20% of cases require surgery to fix! At the very end of the appointment I asked the dr to look into her ears as she was just getting over a cold. Lo and behold, double ear infection. I found this strange since she has been super happy and sleeping through the night but am so glad I asked the dr to take a look.

I also had the opportunity to work on my return to work status at the end of April. I finally spoke to Mr. Oppal about the possibility of my not returning and he was so supportive. He agrees we should stay in Chilliwack if I can find something out this way. After speaking with him, I finalized my application form and resume and dropped it off at the Chilliwack Courthouse - this would be absolutely ideal since it is only a few blocks away.

So that is the update on us. Other than that, I am trying my hand at selling a few items on ebay and one auction is really taking off which is quite interesting (and addictive!) to watch.

Teresa, I am sure everything is going to be just fine with Kaitlyn. I am saying extra prayers for you guys. And you are right, thank goodness you had him look into her ears. So strange hey?!

Go EBAY go! btw

Try not to worry too much, Teresa. I know it's hard, but even if she does have to have surgery, I'm sure it's very routine and I bet you can find a lot of moms who have been through and would reassure you that everything will be fine. Still--I'm saying a prayer that double dipaers work!

And good luck with landing a job in your town. That would be a great compromise. Although I know it's hard to give up your wonderful job (and wonderful pay) in BC. But my, how our priorities change once we have LOs, huh? Anyway, fingers crossed for you!
