I've been looking at pictures today and can't help but think how quickly time has flown by. Somedays it feels like time is dragging on and nothing new happens, but when you start looking at pictures and remembering, things a few years ago seem like they happened yesterday. Here are a few I dug up:

Monday
Today we had a pretty low key relaxing day. Due to the van being out of commission, Kaitlyn and I had to get up nice and early to drop off Ryan at work so we could have a vehicle today, despite it being my day off. As far as timing for the van, it could not have happened at a better time as I had booked today, tomorrow and Wednesday off for the Brad Paisley concert (and a nice break from work) and our brother-in-law, Brad, had today off as well so he was able to take a look at the van. Wasn't too expensive and he even topped up our brake fluid and fixed our blinker. Thanks so much Brad! We are so thankful to you for giving up your day off to help us out!
So Kaitlyn and I hit the consignment shops and managed to pick up a few things at next to nothing as a few of our items had sold. We also picked up a used Strawberry Shortcake DVD which Kaitlyn loves. Good thing since Dora was starting to grate on me.
Couple cute pics of Kaitlyn enjoying her new movie:

Up too early...
Well it's Saturday and we've been up since about 6:45 - much too early in my opinion. Kaitlyn did not sleep well and woke up at least 3 times, and woke up for good at 6:45 which means we're all up. Ryan has to work anyway, so he is already out the door. Kaitlyn is happy watching Dora and doesn't seem like there's anything really wrong with her. Just an off-night I suppose...
Ryan finally received a call from the sheriffs. They confirmed the dates for the course have been pushed back again - now to August - and now they want updated information (crim record check, resume, etc). So we still don't have an answer and the wait is being dragged out some more. In the meantime, he'll be applying for some supervisor positions at work so hopefully that works out in the meantime.
My grandmother (Dad's mom) seems to be nearing her end here on earth. We received an email stating it was doubtful she would make it through the night on Wednesday. Well, it's now Saturday and she's still hanging on. She's not eating and we're praying things proceed quickly at this point so she can see her Heavenly Father soon.
Other than that, only other thing to share was my "fun" drive home from the grocery store yesterday. Heard a loud "twang" from under the hood and then a lot of thumping. I pulled over right away and tried to call Ryan and then my brother-in-law who is a mechanic and couldn't reach either of them. I was only 4 blocks from home so I drove the last 4 blocks - hopefully that doesn't prove to be a fatal mistake! It was still running, very noisily, when I pulled in at home. Ryan took a look and one of the belts snapped. As far as timing, well vehicle repairs are never in the budget, but at least there's no urgency for a vehicle since I don't go back to work until Thursday. Hopefully we can have it fixed by then!
Tuesday night we are off to Vancouver overnight to see Brad Paisley and Dierks Bentley which should be a good show. It will be a nice mini-holiday. Kaitlyn is staying with my Mom and Dad and I'm sure she'll have a good time.
Alright, off to my second cup of coffee :) Here are a couple new pictures of our "little" girl.

and crashing on Sunday. I left her with a cup of juice watching Dora and found her like this 15 minutes later:

Excitement at Work Today
So this was our day at work:
Chilliwack Progress
Courthouse bomb threat defused
By Robert Freeman - Chilliwack Progress

No bomb was found at the Chilliwack courthouse Tuesday morning. The all-clear was given at about 11:40 a.m. after police search dogs combed the building and found no evidence of an explosive.
The courthouse on Main Street had been evacuated and locked down for about an hour. Police and court sheriffs set up a perimeter around the building, and search dogs called in to determine if the threat was real.
There were no high profile court cases happening at the time, but two jury trials were disrupted.
Should be noted, we only have 1 jury courtroom which was being used for a Judge-alone trial. The rest is pretty accurate though. Made for a nice 2 hour coffee break though :)

Mini Report
Not much new to report around here. Kaitlyn had an ear infection and we put her on amoxicillin right away. About 5 days in, I noticed a rash but thought it was due to the dry weather and put moisturizer on her. The next day, she woke up saying "so itchy" and scratching like crazy. I took off her pjs and she had a red violent rash all over her body, and she was scratching so hard, her arm and torso were bleeding. I right away took her off the amoxicillin and took her to the dr who confirmed it was most likely a drug allergic reaction, especially considering I am allergic as well. Great. So most-probably an allergy to penicillin, possibly an allergy to zithromax - what is this poor kid going to get when she has her next ear infection? Plus the dr didn't think her ear infection was quite cleared up but told me to follow up in 2 weeks. Well, hopefully it clears up or she is going to be in pain for another 2 weeks.
We are still waiting to hear back from sheriffs and the wait is awful. There is nothing to do but wait. Before Ryan could look forward to the next interview or work on his reference list - now there is nothing but waiting. They said 2-3 weeks and on Thursday it will be 3 weeks.
As for me, I'm trying to cross things off my to-do list. I finally bought our friends/neighbours some beautiful flowers and wrote up a thank you card for watching our house while we were away. Kaitlyn finally had her 2-year pictures done (I will post once we get them back - here's a sneak peak from Andrea: Picture). I managed to get some filing done in anticipation of yet another tax season. I'm slowly getting 3T clothes for Kaitlyn, mostly by visiting consignment every Saturday and getting a shirt here, a pair of pants there. I also have an appointment with consignment in March to go through Kaitlyn's old spring and summer and try to pay for next season's wardrobe.
Other than that, life is continuing. And because I don't have enough to do, while typing this I managed to lose my cup of coffee all over the laminate and now have to wash the floor. Oh the joys...
