Look at this new tent I found! Now... how do I get back out?

Vote for Brody!!!
Please vote for my friend Mir's baby in the Photowow contest and give him a great big 10! He's a cutie pie so it's not that difficult. You can only vote once per computer per photo or your votes won't count and your votes also won't count if you vote a bunch of 1's and 2's for other contestants. Here's the link - he's entry #41882: http://www.photowow.com/new1/?directory=frames_contest/index.asp&page=/new1/templates/photocontest/%3FcontestID=
And for anyone who reads this on a regular basis I did all my laundry yesterday! I am so proud. We also did a lot of babyproofing since Kaitlyn is an expert crawler now and follows us around from room to room. We're pretty sure she could crawl up stairs if given the opportunity and we'll find out if that's true next time we visit my parents. Have a great day everyone!

Tired and Overwhelmed
This morning I called in sick for baby-sitting at bible study and felt guilty about it. I had good reason - Kaitlyn has been sick for the last couple of days and was up three times last night coughing so hard I thought she was going to throw up. She didn't even want to eat, just cuddle. Which meant I didn't get too much sleep. So this morning when it came time to get up and start our day, she was actually still sleeping. Wonderful sleep. I was not about to wake the beast so I called Rebecca and told her the situation. The more I explained it, the more upset I became. I just feel wiped. I have a tonne of laundry to do but absolutely no motivation to do it. Ryan walks in the door after a day full of work and wants to know what's for dinner. I don't care but whatever it is, I don't feel like cooking it. And the return to work date is coming closer and closer which also overwhelms me and doesn't help my mindframe. Juggling wife, mother and work? Am I nuts?? Maybe it's the weather or maybe I should have iron levels checked again. All I know is I'm just having one of those days...

Kaitlyn's 8 Month Birthday
Kaitlyn had a very up and down 8 month birthday yesterday. She's been sick with a cold for a couple days now and yesterday while at Ryan's mom's had a fever as well. I was just commenting to Granny that she felt warm when suddenly she started throwing up. Luckily it was all over her blanket and not on Ryan's mom's nice rug or couch! The Dimetapp seemed to work pretty quickly and she perked up again. Then - get this - we're getting ready to leave and she pulls herself up to standing position on the folded up pack-n-play. When we brought her home, she did the same thing in her crib so Ryan has already adjusted the crib mattress height to make sure she can't fall out if she tries it again. We also moved her into her convertible carseat for her 8 month birthday. We're pretty sure she loves it because she can't seem to stay awake in it - guess it's just too comfy! Today I think we'll stay in and I'll let her sleep as much as she needs to in order to get better soon. Tomorrow is bible study and it was cancelled last week due to snow so we want to make sure we're there tomorrow. Anyways, she's crying for some attention so I better run.

I am a bad blogger
My apologies to everyone who tries to check this on a regular basis. It seems lately whenever I have a spare minute I just want to relax - and those are few and far between. Introducing solids takes a lot of time and effort. Kaitlyn is not interested in most foods. So far she likes (and this is sometimes) rice cereal (not the kind where you add formula, has to be the just add water kind only - and only Nestle brand), sweet potatoes, Heinz baby custard, apple sauce, pears and just yesterday she gobbled up a Heinz rice cereal jar mixed with apple sauce and bananas. Which surprised me because she normally gags on bananas. And she loves baby yogurt. But she loves her Baby Mum Mum crackers! We actually have to watch how many we give her per day or she has poopy issues (meaning lack of it) due to the iron content in them. And just yesterday we can announce she is officially crawling. I was babysitting with Rebecca at Katrina and Colin's and I guess the peer pressure of hanging out with Owen and Brant put her over the edge and suddenly she started crawling around like she's been doing it forever. This is turning out to be a bit of a pain because she is constantly crawling and reaching things she shouldn't be now but we're still proud nonetheless! She will also hold her own bottle for feedings with Daddy but if Mommy is around, forget it! She still wants me to hold her and hold her bottle for her. And yes, I am another year older and now am 29. Someone informed me though that this is my last birthday and now I just remain 29. Sounds good to me! We didn't do anything too special. We will have a date night sometime soon and go out and celebrate - maybe next weekend. Other than that, I've been busy loading up her closet with spring/summer clothes from ebay. I'm sticking to mostly Gymboree because of the huge resale value. I guarantee she will be the best dressed child this summer - I am spoiling her rotten. Anyways, she's fussing about something or other again so I better run.

Just Some New Pics
I just wanted to share a couple pictures from the last few days. The first is from New Year's - Kaitlyn in her newest Gymboree outfit. And the second was taken today. Go Canucks go! Hope everyone is having a fabulous 2007! Ours has been pretty uneventful so far which is a good thing I suppose. 2007 will be a big year in our family with two new babies on the way - Rebecca is due in May and Andrea is due in June. I will NOT be joining that club this year. I have work to look forward to instead. Maybe 2008?
